Swim team FAQ - click the questions to show the answers

Q: What is the best place for information?
A: Our Parent's Handbook answers most of the questions asked. You can download a copy here

Q: Where is the best place to get up to the minute news about the Hurricanes?
A: Join our email group here

Q: So you still practice if it is raining?
A: Yes. We only stop if it thunders. If it thunders we wait 20 minutes and then resume practicing. If all practices are cancelled, we will try and let you know, but it is best that you come to the pool.

Q: Do you have a swim test?
A: We have a minimum swim requirement to ensure the safty of all of our swimmers. Swimmers must be able to swim 15 yards unassisted to participate on the swim team.

Q: Do you offer swim lessons?
A: We do not. However, all of our coaches offer private swim lessons. You can talk to them at the pool or get their email infomation here

Q: How do I let the coaches know whether I will be attending a meet or not
A: 4 days before the meet, you need to check in here. If you discover on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday that you can not go, email coach Evan. If you discover on the day of the meet (Tuesday) that you can not go, CALL her. Contact information for coach Evan can be found here.

Q: Who can race on the hurricanes?
A: Any child under 18 years old by June 1, 2010 and is a resident of Highcroft is eligible.

Q: How are the swimmers separated?
A: Boys race against boys, girls race against girls. The age groups are:
6 and under, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, 15-18.

Q: Is it too late to register?
A: No, it is not too late. You can download our registration form here. Drop it off with your check to Jean Ross's house.
